Beta-Glucan Ingredient Technologies
Mibelle Biochemistry manufactures a beta-glucan technology, CM-Glucan Forte, using baker's yeast. The supplier's magnesium carboxymethyl beta-glucan is claimed to rebalance the immune system of the skin, soothe irritations and strengthen the skin barrier.
BASF, meanwhile, offers Hydrasensyl Glucan (INCI: water (aqua) (and) beta-glucan), an active ingredient that reportedly moisturizes, smooths and soothes the skin.
(It is not confirmed that either ingredient technology is the same as that found in Lancôme's Génifique Ultimate.)
Accelerated Skin Surface Renewal
Lancôme's Génifique Ultimate reportedly helps "accelerate skin surface renewal, strengthen and repair skin’s moisture barrier, soothe skin, provide antioxidant support, help improve firmness and help reduce the appearance of wrinkles," per the brand, helping "reverse visible signs of skin damage in 1 week."
The new serum contains the same ingredients as the Advanced Génifique Serum, with the addition of Beta-Glucan-CM.
Other key ingredients include the brand's bifidus prebiotic, which is said to "provide a favorable environment for good bacteria that are present on the skin’s surface."
The formulation also includes hyaluronic acid for hydration/moisture retention and antioxidant/prebiotic licorice extract.
